Release Notes (1.48.0) 10/10/2019

SmartRent Release Notes - October 10, 2019 (1.48.0)

NEW FEATURES

Reset Backup Codes: We’ve implemented a new move-out task which will attempt to automatically reset the resident backup code upon a resident moving out. This new enhance will help protect residents and increase the security of our platform.

Resident Codes: Upon move-in, all new residents will be issued a 6-digit code by default. This change allows us to increase the success of getting a new resident a working code, allows site teams to move a resident in successfully even if the hub is offline, increases security for the resident, as well as speeds up the move-in process.

6 or 4 Digit Codes: We now allow residents to select between a 4 or 6-digit personal code. Mentioned above, new residents will be issued a 6-digit code upon move-in by default, however, via the mobile app they can select to reset their “My Code” to either a 4 or 6-digit code. Current residents wishing to increase security can also request a 6-digit code upon reset.

Property Manager Backup Code Push Notification: Residents will receive a push notification when a property manager backup code is used for access to their home. Because property manager backup codes are often used for work orders, this allows the resident to keep informed on the status of their work order.

IMPROVEMENTS

In order to expedite the on-site leak workflow, we now include the resident’s name and phone number in the leak alert email to the site staff. This will allow them to quickly call and confirm the status of the leak with residents.

Based on recent user feedback, we’ve added the last read date/time to the low battery alert page.

We’ve expanded Auto-Lock for vacant units to run every hour instead of just after business hours. This will ensure that a door is locked after a self-guided tour or vendor maintenance access.

We’ve added additional language to the move-in and move-out workflows to help site staff in case of task failure. Now if a task fails, we provide an explanation as to why to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
