Overview
This guide explains how to link Goldman Sachs custodial accounts to SMArtX so:
Account data flows into the SMArtX platform
Trading permissions are enabled
Goldman Sachs account linking occurs through Folio Institutional after your firm authorizes SMArtX as a Third Party Agent (TAMP).

Account linking must be completed directly with Goldman Sachs.
SMArtX cannot initiate or manage this process.
Advisors can link accounts to SMArtX through Folio Institutional once the required Goldman Sachs paperwork is complete.
Before You Begin
Confirm the following:
Your firm is an approved RIA at Goldman Sachs
Your firm has completed the GSCS Third Party Agent Supplement
Your firm has signed the required SMArtX agreement(s)
You have received SMArtX platform credentials
⚠️ Only advisors who have completed the GSCS Third Party Agent Supplement with Goldman Sachs and SMArtX will be able to select SMArtX in Folio Institutional.
Goldman Sachs Account Linking Process
Step 1 — Complete the GSCS Third Party Agent Supplement
Request the GSCS Third Party Agent Supplement from your Goldman Sachs representative.
Once completed:
Submit the form back to your Goldman Sachs service team for processing.
This authorization allows SMArtX to be selected as a Third Party Agent.
Step 2 — Connect SMArtX in Folio Institutional
Log into Folio Institutional.
Navigate to:
Account Settings → Account Selections
Then complete the following:
Select your Branch Code
Select your Repcode
Under Third Party Agent Type, choose:
Turnkey Asset Management Platform (TAMP)
From the agent list, select:
SMArtX Advisory Solutions
Click Save.
Step 3 — Confirm the Account Connection
After saving the changes, verify that the account is linked.
Navigate to:
Account Profile → Account Selections → Third Party Agent
You should see:
SMArtX Advisory Solutions
listed as the Third Party Agent.
⚠️ If SMArtX does not appear, the Branch Code or Repcode may not have been applied correctly.
What Happens Next
Once linking is complete:
Goldman Sachs begins transmitting account data to SMArtX
Accounts will appear in the SMArtX platform
SMArtX confirms when accounts are ready for trading and rebalancing
