What is Account Linking?
Account linking is the process that authorizes SMArtX to access client accounts held at your custodian.
Once linking is complete:
Accounts begin flowing into the SMArtX platform
Trading permissions are enabled through SMArtX
Before You Start
Most custodians require the following before accounts can be linked.
Custodian Identifiers
Each custodian uses different advisor identifiers.

Fidelity | G Number |
Schwab | FA Master / Manager Master |
Raymond James | FA Number + Branch |
Goldman Sachs | Rep Code |
First Clearing | Sub Firm + Rep Code |

Accounts to Link
Prepare a list of accounts you want connected to SMArtX.
Required Authorization
Some custodians require authorization forms such as:
Vendor authorization
Advisor authorization
Client authorization
Examples include:
Fidelity LPOA
Schwab account application paperwork

SMArtX cannot initiate account linking with custodians on your behalf.
Advisors must work directly with their custodian service teams to complete the linking process.
1. Contact Your Custodian
Reach out to your service team to begin the linking process.
2. Provide Custodian Identifiers/Rep Codes
Each custodian uses different terminology for advisor identifiers.
Examples:
Fidelity — G Number
Schwab — FA Master
Goldman Sachs — Advisor Rep ID
Raymond James — FA Number

3. Complete Custodian Authorization
Submit the required paperwork to authorize SMArtX as a platform/vendor.
This may include:
Advisor authorization
Client authorization
Custodian vendor forms
SMArtX will provide the identifiers that must appear on these forms.
4. Submit Paperwork to the Custodian
Once submitted, the custodian processes the request and enables SMArtX access.
At the same time, SMArtX prepares internal account mapping so accounts are assigned to the correct enterprise/platform.
5. Confirm Processing
Advisors should confirm with their custodian service team that the authorization has been completed.
6. Verify Accounts Are Linked
Once the custodian completes linking:
Accounts will appear in SMArtX
SMArtX confirms data feeds are active
Accounts are mapped to the correct enterprise/platform
After Linking
Once accounts begin flowing:
SMArtX’s Reconciliation Team reviews accounts to ensure they are ready for trading and rebalancing.
