Groups

Groups in SocioConnect are the simple yet powerful way to organise your locations into sub sets for reporting, posting, and all around management.

To get started, find the Groups page, which is located on the Venue Profile tab.

Here you'll see a list of all groups active on your Venue, along with indications of which Locations and Users have been assigned to them.

Creating & Editing Group

Creating new groups and editing existing ones is the same process; to do so click the notepad symbol alongside an existing group, or the Create Group button in the top right of the screen for a brand new one.

The most important steps in creating a group are giving it a name, and selecting which Locations will be included in it.

Clicking the Add A New Location button will drop down a display of all Locations on your Venue that haven't already been assigned to this group, simply click one to add it to the group you're working on.

You can also start typing in this drop down to search among the locations on your venue and then make a selection.

Users

Users can also be assigned to groups; this doesn't need to be done for HQ users, who will already have access to groups by default - but is often used as a way of giving a local user access to multiple locations that may be in their region or under the control in some way.

Deleting

Deleting groups is as easy as clicking the trash can icon next to your selection on the group page.

Careful - once a group has been deleted there's no easy way of returning it, so make sure you're done with them before deleting.

Filtering by Group

Once your groups are properly set up, you can begin utilising them.

Most sections of SocioConnect present you with the ability to filter by group, you'll find filters like the below example along the top of the screen in the posting, reporting, review, and messaging screens.

When a screen like the Social Performance reports is filtered by a group, you will be seeing only results from the selected group or groups.

Posting To Groups

When creating posts the Groups selector allows you to post to only the groups you're working, saving a lot of time unpicking locations when posting in volume.

Suggested posts can also be sent exclusively to selected groups, learn more here about Advanced Posting
