Softbox 4 Not Working Properly? Fix Common Problems
If your Softbox 4 is experiencing any of the following problems, your device's internal storage may be full.
Common Problems
Channels Not Playing: Channels won't load or play.
Slow Performance: Your box is running slower than normal.
Apps Not Working: Apps freeze, crash, or won't open.
Unable to Install Apps: New apps or updates won't install.
Wi-Fi Problems: Trouble connecting to or staying connected to Wi-Fi.
Freezing or Unresponsive: Your box frequently freezes or stops responding.
All of these problems can occur by recording on your Softbox 4 without first properly configuring DVR.
IMPORTANT: This guide is for the Softbox 4 only. If you have a Softbox 3 or older, do not Factory reset your box.
Factory Reset Your Softbox 4
A factory reset can fix problems caused by full internal storage. You will not lose any of your apps for Drivemob or Limepie. It is perfectly safe to do this.
WARNING: You will need to know your username and password to log back in after you factory reset. This is how to look up your user and password:
From your home screen, follow this path:
Settings Gear (top-left) → Android Settings → Device Preferences → About → Factory Reset
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset. The box will reset a couple of times during this process and is normal.
Wait 5 Minutes Before Using!
Once the factory reset finishes and your Softbox 4 returns to the main home screen:
DO NOT TOUCH OR USE THE BOX FOR 5 FULL MINUTES.
This allows the device to finish starting up properly. After 5 minutes, you can set up your box as if it were brand new.
Step 4: IMPORTANT – Before Recording Again!
DO NOT attempt to record anything until you have followed our DVR on Softbox 4 guide otherwise the box may stop working!
Simply plugging in a USB drive is NOT enough. You must properly configure your recording settings first, or you could fill up your box's storage and experience the same problems again. Follow these DVR instructions:
