Do you want to perform an audience profiling from a list of email addresses?

✅ Requirements

You must have a list (CSV or TXT file) with one or more identifiers such as e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, etc. And you can combine the use of as many identifiers as possible to get the best match rates.

You need a minimum of 100 email addresses or mobile phone numbers. However, keep in mind that the more data you have, the more effective your custom audience targeting will be. And just because you provide 100 identifiers doesn't mean you'll get 100% of the match in the end. So, while 100 is the minimum number required, you may want to consider including as many email addresses or phone numbers as possible to ensure that your custom audience is as precise as possible.

Follow the steps below 👇

  • Connect to your Meta Business manager

  • Go to the “Audiences” area and select “Create Audience”, then choose “Custom Audience

  • Here you have access to all the information you need to complete your import. Meta provides you with templates and guidelines that you can download to make sure you upload the data in the required format.

  • Choose if a value is associated with your customers, Yes or No. (Customer value is a value associated with your customers based on how much and how often they spend towards your business. Adding customer value as a column in your customer list allows you to create a value-based lookalike later on to find people similar to your most valuable customers).

  • Upload your list and name your audience.

  • Choose what column you want to identify and upload. Once it is done, click on “Import & create” (in case “upload anyway”).

  • Congratulation 🥳 Your list is uploaded!

👉 Now that this is done, you have the option to create a Lookalike audience, an ad, or another Custom audience. In order to profile this audience in the platform, we strongly recommend that you create a Lookalike audience based on the Custom you just created. If you want to remain as faithful as possible to this first audience you can configure your Lookalike to 1% of the population (why do you need to proceed a Lookalike audience of 1%).
