What is Specter Agent?
Specter Agent is your AI agent for private markets. You ask a question the way you'd ask a colleague, and it works across Specter's databases and the web, then comes back with a written answer, search or list. This page covers where to find it, what it can reach, and what it does today.
Where to find it
Click Agent at the top of the sidebar. Browse takes you back to the databases and feeds.
The chat screen gives you a chat box and four suggested prompts.
What Specter Agent can reach
Specter Agent searches Company DB, People DB, Investor DB and Transactions. It reads Talent Signals and Interest Signals with their scores and dates, and opens full profiles. Type # in the message box to point it at one of your own Lists or Saved Searches.
When Specter doesn't hold something, Specter Agent goes to the web and cites the domain it used. It also reads this help centre, so you can ask how a Specter feature works.
What it does today
Specter Agent asks before it guesses. When your brief is ambiguous you'll get a clarifying question with options to pick from.
Personalization is one box of standing instructions it reads in every chat.
Skills are saved instruction blocks you drop into a message with /.
What's coming
The What can Specter Agent do? card lists five capabilities marked Soon: Specter Agent in Slack, Specter Agent on every page, scheduled tasks, memory across chats, and network intelligence.
What Alpha means
An Alpha tag sits in a row inside the message box, next to a Give Feedback link. Specter Agent is in Alpha and changes week to week, so expect its behaviour to move while it's in this phase.
Give Feedback reaches the team building Specter Agent, and so do the thumbs under any answer. If Specter Agent misreads a question, telling us there is the fastest way to get it fixed. Specter Agent cites what it used, so you can click through and check any figure before it goes into a memo.
