Setting Up Your Creator Account 📝🐷

Right, you've decided you're doing this. Welcome to the squad. 🎉

This article walks you through the whole setup, start to finish. Should take 15-20 minutes if you've got your details ready (a bit longer if our team needs to do a manual social media check).

Here's what you'll need before you start ⏱️:

✅ An email address you actually check

✅ A phone number (for 2FA)

✅ An active public social media account (Instagram, X, or TikTok — see below 👀) ✅ Your passport(driving licences not accepted — we'll explain why)

✅ Your bank details (for payouts, added at the Stripe step)

✅ A profile photo (doesn't have to be a glam shot, just something that's actually you)

Head to spennypiggy.co and click Sign Up (top right corner).

You'll be asked for:

Hit submit. You'll get a verification email — click the link. You're in. ✨

We'll prompt you to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) — please don't skip this.Creators who skip 2FA are the ones who lose their accounts to phishing. 💀

You can use:

Open your authenticator app, scan the QR code we show you, enter the 6-digit code. Done. 🎯

Your profile is your shop window — supporters land here, decide whether to back you, and click whichever income stream catches their eye.

🖼️ Profile photo — a clear photo of you (or your brand). Avoid blurry, dimly lit, or 5-year-old pics.

📸 Cover photo — bigger, higher-impact. Show off your aesthetic. Brand colours work great.

✍️ Bio (up to 500 characters) — tell supporters who you are, what you create, and why they should back you. Short, punchy, with a hook. Use line breaks. 🎯

🔗 Social links — connect your active socials. This builds credibility AND is required for verification (more below).

🌍 Location (country) — for tax and currency purposes (we'll handle the rest)

✨ Use your brand colours if you have them ✨ Add 1-2 sparkle/emoji to your name (e.g., "Sasha ✨🐷") for visual pop ✨ Update your bio quarterly — what worked 3 months ago might not work now ✨ Pin your best content at the top once you start posting

This is the gatekeeper step. Before you can complete KYC or process any payments, you need to connect a verified social media account.

✅ Platform: Instagram, X (Twitter), or TikTok — one of these three only

✅ Account age:Minimum 6 months active

✅ Privacy: Must be public (we can't verify private accounts)

✅ Profile photo: Must show the same person as your passport

Our team manually checks that the person in your social media profile photo matches the person on your passport. This is a real human review — not just an algorithm.

It's an annoying extra step, we know. But it's the single biggest thing that stops impersonators, fraudsters, and bad actors from ruining the platform for everyone. One manual check now = years of cleaner operations for all of us. 🛡️

Unfortunately, we can't onboard creators without an active public social account on one of the three platforms above. This is a hard requirement — no alternative paths, no workarounds. 🚫

We know it's not perfect — we may add additional verification methods over time. But for now, no socials = no Spenny Piggy.

That's totally fine. ✨ Many of our creators use stage names, aliases, or persona names — and we don't require those to match your passport.

What DOES need to match: the person in your social media profile photo must match the person on your passport. Names can be different. The face is what we verify.

Once your social media is connected and manually approved by our team, KYC unlocks.

You'll be asked to:

📷 Upload a photo of your passport (driving licences and other ID types are not accepted — see "Why passport only?" below)

🤳 Take a selfie (we match it to your passport photo)

🏠 Confirm your address (sometimes a proof-of-address doc is needed)

This is done through our identity verification partner. The whole process takes 5-10 minutes and usually approves within minutes.

We only accept passports — not driving licences, not national ID cards, not anything else.

Reason: passports are the hardest documents to forge. Driving licences and other IDs are unfortunately too easily faked, and we'd rather have a clean platform than process fraud all day. 🔒

If you don't have a passport, you'll need to get one before you can verify. There's no workaround on this rule.

🔒 Your passport info is handled by our regulated identity verification partner and never stored on Spenny Piggy servers. We just receive the "yes, this is a real human" confirmation.

Once social and KYC are approved, you'll unlock Stripe Connect.

Spenny Piggy uses Stripe Connect — which means payments flow directly to YOUR Stripe account, not ours. We never hold your money. ✨

This step typically takes 5-10 minutes. Stripe may request additional documents (e.g., proof of address) which you can upload directly to them. 📤

Now you can actually start earning. Pick one to launch first (don't try to launch all 7 — you'll burn out).

You can, but it changes your profile URL — which breaks any links you've shared. So choose carefully. 🎯

No. Most creators sign up as individuals/sole traders. You don't need a Ltd company or VAT registration. Stripe handles the rest.

Because face-matching a real social presence to your passport is the single best fraud defence we have. Fraudsters typically don't have a 6-month-old public Instagram with their actual face on it. Real creators do. 🛡️

Let us know via the chat bubble — we'll need to re-verify with another active social account. If you can't provide one, we may need to pause your account. 📞

No. The face in the social photo must match your passport — not anyone else's. This is what makes the verification meaningful. 🚫

You'll need a valid, in-date passport. Expired ones aren't accepted. 📅

Driving licences (and most other ID types) are unfortunately too easy to fake. Passports have far more anti-fraud features baked in, which keeps the platform clean. 🔒

We get this is a real barrier for some creators. We're looking at additional verification options for the future — but for now, passport is required.

Because we're a regulated platform handling real money. KYC prevents fraud, protects creators (and supporters) from impersonators, and keeps us compliant with Stripe, banks, and payment regulators. No KYC = no payouts. 🔒

Once social, KYC, and Stripe are all approved, immediately. Your first tip or wishlist gift could land within minutes. 💸
