NCAAB: Understanding Double Picks for Day 7 & Day 8

Updated over 3 months ago

In Splash survivor contests, the Round of 8 (also known as the "Elite 8") introduces unique pick-selection rules. This guide will clarify the rules for days 7 and 8 and highlight key considerations to help you navigate this important phase of the contest.

๐Ÿ€ Why Double Picks Are Available

Days 7 and 8 correspond to the Elite Eight rounds, a crucial point in the contest where fewer games are available. To give players more strategic flexibility during this phase, we allow:

Days 7 and 8 are combined into a single "pick slate," meaning both picks for this round must be made prior to the start of the first game on Day 7.

  • Two teams from games played on Day 7

  • Two teams from games played on Day 8

  • One team from Day 7 and one from Day 8 Picks for days 7 and 8 must be submitted before the first game on Day 7. Missing this deadline will result in disqualification for this round.

This setup is designed to enhance gameplay and has become the preferred format for many of our users. Submitting picks on time and strategizing carefully ensures players maintain viable team choices for future rounds, such as the Final Four.

Common FAQs

Does everyone have to make two picks for this round? Yes, all participants are required to submit exactly two picks for the Round of 8 to ensure consistency. Can I wait until Day 8 to make my selections? No, picks must be submitted before the start of the first game on Day 7. Why only two picks when there are multiple days? This prevents players from running out of team options for later high-stakes rounds, promoting strategic gameplay.
