How to Enable Location Access on Safari

Updated over a month ago

If you're experiencing issues with location detection while using Safari, it may be due to your location settings not being fully enabled. Follow the steps below to allow Safari to access your location.

📱 Step 1: Open iPhone Settings

  • Unlock your iOS device and tap on the Settings app (gear icon).

🌐 Step 2: Find Safari

  • Scroll down the list of apps and tap Safari.

🔒 Step 3: Access Privacy & Security Settings

  • Within Safari settings, scroll to the Privacy & Security section.

📍 Step 4: Tap on “Location”

  • In this section, tap Location to manage Safari’s location permissions.

✅ Step 5: Choose a Location Access Option

You’ll see the following options:

  • Never – Safari cannot access your location

  • Ask Next Time – Safari will prompt you for permission each time

  • While Using the App – Safari can access your location only when it's in use

We recommend selecting “While Using the App” for best performance.

🔔 Step 6: Confirm Permissions

  • If prompted, tap Allow to confirm your selection.

🔧 Important Note: Enable Overall Location Services

Make sure that Location Services are also turned on in your main settings:
SettingsPrivacy & SecurityLocation Services → Toggle ON

Safari’s location access won’t work if this is disabled.

Once these settings are enabled, Safari should be able to detect your location properly. If you still have trouble, feel free to reach back out—we're happy to help further.
