Enabling Location Services on iPhone for Splash Sports

How to enable location services on iPhone for Splash Sports — global settings, app and browser permissions, and VPN/network issues.

Updated over a week ago

If Splash Sports can't verify your location on iPhone, follow these steps to make sure location access is properly enabled.

Step 1: Enable Location Services Globally

  1. Open iPhone Settings

  2. Tap Privacy & SecurityLocation Services

  3. Make sure the toggle at the top is On

If Location Services is off, no app or browser can share your location — this must be enabled first.

Step 2: Enable Location for Your Browser or the Splash App

Once Location Services is on, set access for whichever you're using:

Splash Sports App:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Splash SportsWhile Using the App + enable Precise Location

Safari:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Safari WebsitesWhile Using the App + enable Precise Location

Chrome:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → ChromeWhile Using the App + enable Precise Location

Then reopen Splash Sports or refresh the page — tap Allow if prompted.

Step 3: Avoid VPNs and Restricted Networks

  • Turn off any VPN completely — VPNs override your actual location and are not permitted on Splash

  • Switch networks if you're on corporate, school, or secured Wi-Fi — these can block location access. Try home Wi-Fi or mobile data instead
