Entertainment-Only NCAAB Survivor Contest Tiebreaker Settings

The Tiebreaker option determines how ties are resolved when multiple members remain alive at the end of the contest.

Updated over a week ago

For Entertainment-Only NCAAB Survivor contests, the tiebreaker is based on total seed points of all picks, rewarding participants who took greater risks.

Where to Enable the Tiebreaker

To configure the tiebreaker:

  1. Open the Commissioner Console

  2. Navigate to Pool Settings

  3. Select Pick and Scoring Settings

  4. Locate Tiebreaker

  5. Enable the option

How the Tiebreaker Works

The system calculates the total number of all teams each member selected throughout the contest.

  • Higher seed numbers = lower-ranked teams (riskier picks)

  • Lower seed numbers = higher-ranked teams (safer picks)

👉 The member with the highest total seed points wins the tiebreaker.

When the Tiebreaker Is Used

The tiebreaker applies when:

  • Two or more members survive to the same final stage

  • Multiple winners would otherwise be declared

  • A single winner needs to be determined

Best Practices

  • Enable the tiebreaker before the contest begins

  • Confirm the setting aligns with your group’s preferences

Summary

The tiebreaker uses total seed points from all picks to break ties, favoring entrants who selected lower-seeded (riskier) teams. Enabling this option ensures a clear winner even if multiple members survive to the end of the Survivor contest.
