Quick answers to the most common questions about Splash-managed NHL Player Survivor contests.

General Questions

What is NHL Player Survivor?
It's a real-money, elimination-style contest where you pick one NHL player per slate to record a point (goal or assist). Advance by surviving each slate — the last entry standing wins.

Who handles payments?
Splash Sports. Entry fees are collected by Splash, held securely, and paid out automatically to winners at the end of the contest. You do not need to coordinate payments externally.

Is NHL Player Survivor available in my state?
Real-money contests are available in 30+ U.S. states. Check the state availability map or contact support@splashsports.com for your specific location.

Pick Questions

Can I pick the same player multiple times across slates?
This depends on the commissioner's settings. In many contests, player reuse is restricted — once you pick a player, they may be unavailable for future slates. Check the contest rules or ask your commissioner.

Do overtime points count?
Yes. Goals and assists recorded in overtime count toward the point threshold. Shootout goals and assists do not count.

My player scored in the shootout — does that count?
No. Shootout goals and assists are not counted as points in NHL Player Survivor. Your player must score in regulation or overtime.

Can I change my picks after submitting?
Yes, until the pick deadline. Once the first game of the slate starts and picks lock, changes are no longer allowed.

What if I miss the pick deadline?
Your entry is automatically eliminated if no pick is submitted before the deadline. If auto-picks are enabled on your contest, the system may submit a pick on your behalf instead — check your contest settings.

Alternate Questions

When does my alternate player get used?
Your alternate activates only if your primary player's game is postponed, cancelled, or your primary player is scratched and doesn't dress. It does not activate because your primary player had a scoreless game.

What if both my primary and alternate's games are cancelled?
If neither player has a valid game, the slate is voided for your entry and you advance automatically to the next slate.

Prize Questions

How is the prize paid out?
The last surviving entry wins the full prize pool. Splash calculates and pays out winnings automatically to the winner's Splash wallet after the contest concludes.

What if everyone gets eliminated in the same slate?
The prize is split equally among all entries that were still alive heading into that final slate. Splash handles the split automatically.

Does Splash take a fee?
Yes — a 10% administrative fee applies to real-money contests. This covers payment processing, identity verification, and platform operations. The prize amount shown at contest creation already reflects the net prize after this fee.
