To keep the Find Games page accurate and useful, Adventures that are no longer being actively recruited for will automatically expire and be removed from search.
This article covers when Adventures expire, how to renew one, and what to do if yours has already expired.
When Do Adventures Expire?
An Adventure will be tagged as Expiring Soon on your Listings page when it meets all three of the following criteria:
There are no players signed up for the game
The game is in Pending status
The game was created or last renewed more than 42 days ago
If your game has players signed up or has been set to Active, it will not be marked as Expiring Soon β all three criteria must be met.
Will I be notified before my Adventure expires?
Yes. When an Adventure enters Expiring Soon status, you will receive both a site notification and an email saying "Your Adventure is going to expire."
Once notified, you have 7 days to renew the Adventure before it expires. This won't happen if a player signs up in the meantime, which will automatically stop the expiry.
How do I renew an Adventure?
While an Adventure is in the Expiring Soon status, the Set to Active button on the Adventure, will be replaced with a Renew Adventure button.
Click it, confirm the action, and the 42-day timer will reset.
If you do not Renew the Adventure within those 7 days, the adventure will Expire, deleting it from your account.
What happens to players signed up when an Adventure expires?
An Adventure can only expire when there are no players signed up. Expiring Adventures will never have players affected by the removal.
What should I do if my Adventure already expired?
In most cases, you don't need to do anything. Expired Adventures are typically ones that were no longer being actively recruited for.
If your Adventure expired unexpectedly, you can create a new Adventure from the same Game Template and schedule it in the same time slot.
If you need something specific restored from the expired Adventure, email support@startplayinggames.com and the team can help restore it for you.
