This help doc is divided into sections to walk you through everything you need to setup and use Group Sets in Bound.
Section 1: Naming Conventions
If your Group Set has groups that have similar names add a designation behind it to reference what Division it goes with.
In the below example you can see that under the Group Set "Region" there is a Cactus 1, Cactus 2. Cactus 1 correlates with Division 1: Cactus Region and Cactus 2 correlates with Division 2: Cactus Region.
Switch to the Athletic Association you are setting up Group Sets for. In this case we are showing Canyon Athletic Association in Arizona and will be using the groups Divisions and Regions for our groups.
Note: different states use different types of groups.
Section 2: Creating a Group Set
Adjust the year (Season) to ensure you are setting group sets up in the correct year.
2. Click on the "Trophy" (Activities)
3. Click on the green arrow in front of the sport you want to work on.
4. Click on "Group Sets"
5. Click on "Manage Group Sets" in the top right corner
6. Click on "Add Group Set"
7. Click on the drop down arrow by Type to select the type of Group Set you are creating. Click in the Name field and type the same name as the type. For Example Type = Division, Name = Division. Type = Region, Name = Region
8. Click on "Save"
9. In the Group Set Parent field, only select if the group set you are creating is under another in hierarchy; for example Divisions are the parent of Regions. Otherwise ignore.
Note: If you created the group set in error, you can Delete it.
Section 3: Adding a Group to a Group Set
Again, make sure you are in the correct year and sport.
Click on "Group Sets"
2. Click on the Overflow Menu Button directly in front of the Group Set you want to add groups to. For example the Group Set "Divisions" has a Division 1 group, Division 2 group, Division 3 group etc.
3. Click on Add Group in the upper right hand side. Type in the name of Group. For example for Divisions the group names can be the name of the different divisions. Regions the name of the different regions, conferences the different conferences. Create a group for each different name in the Group Set section you are working on.
Section 4: Add/Remove Schools to a Group in a Group Set
Click on the "Overflow Menu" button in front of the Group you want to add schools to.
2. Search for the school name by entering it in the Search field. OR find it on the list below and click the green + button in front of the school.
Note: If you are setting up a group set for a lower level team, please click on the drop down arrow by Varsity and select the level. Use this key if you aren't sure which level represents which team.
4. Use the above steps to add schools to any Group Set. If you are adding schools to a Group Set that has a parent, then your list will be automatically filtered to with only the schools linked to the parent.
5. Removing a school from the Group is as simple as clicking on the red - button in front of the school.
NOTE: If a school's program/team is moving from one group to another, you first must remove it from its existing group and then add it to the new as a school's program/team can only belong in one group in at a time.
Section 5: Add a Group Set that has a Parent.
Refer to Section 2. Step 9.
Great job! You now know how to work with Group Sets and Groups. Remember if you have any questions, please reach out using the Bound B.
