Use Sternify on a new or draft theme

Set up the destination theme, check sections and app embeds, and understand what carries over.

Written by Alex

Set up Sternify inside the destination theme before publishing it. Installing a section into one theme does not install it into every theme in your store.

1. Confirm the destination

Open Online Store → Themes and identify the theme you want to prepare. Keep its name in mind when selecting a theme inside Sternify.

2. Add the sections you need

  1. Open a section in Sternify → Sections.

  2. Choose the destination under Select Theme and click Install Section, if installation is required.

  3. In that theme’s editor, enable App embeds → Sternify and add the section to the intended template.

  4. Customize the content and save.

For app blocks, use Add block → Apps inside a supported section. Follow the complete installation guide if needed.

Moving a product page

Select the destination when installing a prebuilt or generated page, then check the installed copy in Shopify.

Installing again does not transfer your edits from another theme. Compare the new copy with your customized page before using it. If retaining a heavily customized page is essential, ask support about that page before replacing it.

Before publishing

  1. Check the app embed, page content, links, and mobile layout.

  2. Confirm which products should use each template.

  3. Test the rest of the theme as well as your Sternify page.

Publishing switches the storefront’s whole theme. Continue previewing the draft until it is ready.

Theme or template missing?

The installation picker excludes Theme Store demo/trial themes. If a template exists only in a draft, use the draft-template guide before assigning it.
