This article explains how to set up Vauban for your site, including site-level and unit-level configurations, customer access, and unit linking.
How it works
When Vauban is integrated with Stora, customers use a PIN or smartphone access to open site gates and doors. On move‑in day, Stora emails the customer their PIN. Vauban manages access per customer profile rather than per unit.

How to connect a site to Vauban
⚠️ Stora support must complete this step. It cannot be done manually.
Once you are ready to connect your site to Vauban, contact our support team and let them know. They will need the following details from you:
API Username: Vauban Visor login username
API Password: Vauban Visor login password
API URL: The Stora‑provided tunnel URL for the Vauban API
Access Groups: Default access groups applied to customers unless overridden
How to connect your units to Vauban
Vauban is customer‑centric: access is managed per customer rather than per unit. However, Access Groups are defaulted at the site level. You can also override access groups for specific customers if necessary.
🎉 Once the customer is set up and linked, their PIN/smartphone credentials grant access per your Vauban configuration.
How to configure unit-level access groups (optional)
By default, all units use the site-level access groups configured during setup. However, you can override these for specific units if needed.
In Stora, open your Site and go to Units.
Select the unit you want to configure and click Edit unit
Find the Access groups field.
Enter the specific access group IDs for this unit, separated by commas.
Click Update Unit.
Testing Stora with Vauban
Place a test booking through your Storefront and complete the move‑in. Confirm the customer receives the PIN and verify access works at gates/doors as configured.
