What is Landmark?
Landmark AML is a proven electronic AML customer due diligence system that has been designed to specifically meet anti-money laundering due diligence by interrogating a wide range of approved and independent data sources to enable users to reach a decision instantly, with confidence and certainty.
The Landmark integration can be setup allowing you to complete AML checks for vendors, sales applicant, landlords, lettings applicants and tenants from within Street, either manually or by submitting the details to Landmark.
This article focuses on how to manually complete an AML check using the integration however for more information on submitting details to Landmark to run the check, see this help article.
Manual AML Checks within Street
In a similar way to submitting checks to Landmark, you should look for the Compliance Card on the right hand side of the relevant page you are looking to run the AML checks for.
Manual checks are helpful if you complete the checks outside of the usual Landmark integration, for example if you have seen their documentation yourself.
Note - It is important to note that if you are manually checking AML the responsibility is on you to ensure these checks are carried out correctly, as Landmark will not be involved in the AML process.
Identity Check
To run a manual AML check, instead of clicking the green 'check identity / ownership' button, you should click 'update'.
For the Identity check you can choose whether that specific check is not required or passed. If passed, you will see additional options for how it passed including external software, uploaded by owner or in person. You can select which document was used to carry out the identity check and upload the document if required.
Once saved, the check will update to 'not required' or 'passed' depending on how you progressed.
Proof of Address
Proof of address checks are not possible to check through Landmark so would be completed manually in the same way as the Identity Check.
Proof of Ownership
For proof of ownership, you need to set whether you are manually passing or not. If you choose yes, you can add some additional notes that will store on the activity stream.
Once completed, the status will update to 'Completed' highlighting the check is done.
Updating / Viewing a manual check
You can always go back at any time and update an existing manual check by clicking the 'update' button again and view the the existing manual check, including who added it and what date/time, by clicking the 'view' button.
Street is constantly being updated. This can mean that some of these articles become slightly out of date. If you spot something that looks a little bit different to your Street account, please let us know on the live chat so we can get it updated!
