How does the agency ledger work in Street
Street makes it easy to track and manage your agency's accounting. Your agency will have one unique ledger, allowing you to keep an accurate record of incoming and outgoing money relating to your agency.
How to access your agency ledger
To access your agency ledger, head to the main Accounting tab (in the left side panel) and then click Agent Ledger.
Agent Ledger
The Agent Ledger tab gives a breakdown of your agency balance in Street, your total management fee income and total other income (such as maintenance commission or tenancy setup fees).
Below you can see a list of entries that are relevant to your agency, such as management fees (incoming from the the owner via the tenants rent), miscellaneous fees such as key replacements (incoming from the tenants), maintenance commission (incoming from contractors) and outgoing payments (payments being made to your agency business bank account).
You can also filter entries by dates, and charges added from maintenance jobs (where the 'payer' was set as 'agency') and show voided entries.
Note - It is not possible to void credits like management fees or maintenance commission from the agency ledger, as they will be linked with other transactions. If you need a credit on the agency ledger voided, please contact Street Support on live chat.
Any unallocated maintenance charges can be allocated to using the three dots on the right hand side, as long as there are funds available on the agency ledger.
Clicking 'actions' on the agency ledger gives you options to manually receipt money in and export the ledger to CSV.
Note - To access the export to CSV option you will need a role with the permission 'Allow this user to export data from Street' enabled.

For more information, see our Roles and Permissions help article.
You can also click 'generate income report' to generate an agency income report, in PDF or CSV format, to show a breakdown of income and expenditure in a set timeframe. This can be used to manually generate an agency monthly statement.
Below is an example of what this income report looks like, showing a summary of net, vat and gross income, and a breakdown of commission, management fee, miscellaneous etc.
Credit Notes
Any credit notes added to other ledgers will show the 'debit' side of that credit note on the agency ledger.
For more information, see our Credit Note help article.
Other types of ledgers
If you're looking for help on the various other ledgers, please see the following help articles for Application, Tenancy, Owner and Contractor ledgers.
Street is constantly being updated. This can mean that some of these articles become slightly out of date. If you spot something that looks a little bit different to your Street account, please let us know on the live chat so we can get it updated!
