Areas in Street
The Areas settings allow you to set up specific geographical locations that your agency covers. When creating areas you can use postcodes or create your own custom areas, for example 'Primary school catchment area' or '5 minute walk from the train station'.
These areas can be selected as areas of interest when registering an applicant and properties that sit within those areas will be included property matches.
This article focuses on choosing which areas to apply to a branch. However to do this you first need to have created areas in your company settings. For more information, see our Areas (Company) help article.
Choosing Areas at Branch Level
To get started head to Settings (on the left side panel, at the bottom) > Branch Settings > Areas.
Note - You will need to be a Branch or Company Admin to access the Areas settings at branch level.
Here you will see any areas already selected for that branch and can use the dropdown to select which areas that you setup at company level should be used for that branch.
You can either go through manually and select each area that your branch deals with (useful for multi branch agencies) or select the 'toggle all areas' to select every area that's been setup at company level (useful for single branch agencies).
When you've selected the areas relevant to your branch, you will see them display below the drop down. You can remove any areas you don't want selected for that branch by clicking the 'X' icon on that area.
Don't forget to click 'save areas' to save them into your branch settings!
Areas, Applicants and Property Matches
These areas will now appear in a list for you to choose from when registering a sales or lettings applicant, to highlight their areas of interest.
Additionally, when running an applicant or property match, you can choose to only include applicants or properties that are within the areas that applicant is interested in / the property is within.
Properties are automatically assigned to the area/s they are located in, so you don't need to do this manually.
For more information on matching, see our Applicant to Property and Property to Applicant matching help articles.
