Objective

Add and Adjust User Permissions at the Project Level.

Background

When you add or import a new Project to StructShare, you can add the users that will have access to the project and grant them the appropriate permissions in the Project ‘Permission’ screen. Permissions will control the access users have and the actions they can perform on a project by project basis.

Things to Consider

  • Permissions

    • System Admin’, ‘Invoices Admin’ or ‘Project Admin’ permissions are needed to access the ‘Projects’ page.

  • Changes made in this screen will adjust permissions for users on a single project. You can set default permissions that are automatically added to all projects from the ‘Users & Permissions’ tab via ‘Settings’.

  • You cannot add a new user from the 'Projects' page, permissions can only be granted to users that have already been added to the StructShare system.

Steps:

  1. Click on the StructShare ‘S’ logo on the top left of your StructShare instance to open up the menu bar

  2. Click on the person icon with the hardhat to open the ‘Projects’ page

  3. Find the Project that you wish to adjust the User Permissions for.

    1. The search bar can be used to search for the Project based on the Project Name, Project Address or or Job Number. Additionally you can scroll and adjust the ‘Rows per Page’ to view more projects

  4. Click on the pencil icon

    1. The pencil icon can be used to access the Project settings and adjust the ‘Details’, ‘Setup’, ‘Phases’ and ‘Permissions’

  5. Click on the ‘Permissions’ tab

  1. You can filter the Project Permissions by 'All Users' or 'Project Users' (the default) and the 'Search' will allow you to search for users based on the filter applied.

    1. The 'Permissions' will automatically show a list of users (alphabetically by first name) that have access to the Project and their current permissions granted. You can easily make adjustments and 'Update Project' or 'Discard Changes' to reset to the previous permissions.

  2. The available 'Permissions Per User' are:

    1. View & Request- View Project activities

    2. Approve Order- Approve Orders/RFQs & send to the office for submission

    3. Send Order- Submit Orders and RFQs. When not checked, approval will be required.

    4. Invite Users- Edit user's information and invite other users

    5. Notifications- Receive notifications on activities and chat messages

    6. External Chat- View and send messages to Suppliers and access quotes.

  3. Once you adjust the permissions according to the Project, you can ‘Update Project’ to save changes.
