You can delete your Subanana account yourself at any time. Deletion cannot be undone, so please read the notes below before following the steps.
What happens when you delete your account?
Once your account is deleted:
Your paid subscription and usage will be canceled, generally without a refund (exceptional situations are handled case by case).
All audio and video files you have uploaded will be deleted and can no longer be accessed.
All transcription content you have generated will be deleted and can no longer be accessed.
Your account and personal data will be deleted.
This takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. Even if you sign in again later with the same email, a brand-new, empty account will be created; your original account will not be restored.
Steps to delete your account
On the main page, click your avatar in the top-right corner, then click [Settings].
At the very bottom of the left sidebar on the settings page, click [Delete account].
In the confirmation dialog that appears, read all the notes, then type the email address you used to register the account into the email confirmation field as a second confirmation.
Once the email address is correct, the [Delete account] button below becomes active; click it to complete the deletion. You will be signed out and returned to the home page.
Why can't I click the [Delete account] button?
The [Delete account] button in the confirmation dialog is grayed out (disabled) by default. This is by design, to prevent accidental deletion. The button only becomes active after you enter a registered email address that exactly matches your account in the email confirmation field.
If the button still cannot be clicked, check:
Whether the email you entered exactly matches the one you sign in with (including capitalization and any extra spaces).
Whether you entered a different email address (it must be the registered email of this account).
If the email does not match, the system shows an "email address does not match" message. Correct it and try again. If the problem persists, email hello@subanana.com or contact us via the in-app support chat.
Can't find [Delete account] on your phone?
The steps in a mobile browser are the same as on desktop: tap your avatar → [Settings], then look for [Delete account] in the settings menu on the left. Because phone screens are narrow, the left menu may be collapsed; expand the settings menu first and scroll to the very bottom of the menu to find this option.
