What content can't be uploaded? (Acceptable use and content copyright)

Subanana is an AI speech-to-text tool that converts audio/video content into subtitles, transcripts, and AI meeting summaries. Before uploading any file, please make sure your content meets the acceptable-use rules below. The full terms are governed by our [Terms of Service](https://subanana.com/en/terms).

1. You must hold the legal rights to the content you upload

You may only upload audio/video content that you own or are authorized to process. Before uploading, please confirm that:

  1. The content was created or recorded by you, or you have obtained permission from the content's rights holder.

  2. You have the right to process, copy, and reorganize the content.

  3. If the content involves another person's voice, likeness, or personal data, you have obtained that person's consent.

Please note in particular: even if content is publicly available online, that does not mean you have the right to process, copy, or distribute it.

You retain your rights to the content you upload; you only grant us the limited license needed to store, process, and display that content within the service, so that we can generate subtitles, transcripts, and AI meeting summaries for you.

2. Prohibited uses

Under the [Terms of Service](https://subanana.com/en/terms), you must not:

  • use the service for any unlawful purpose;

  • access or interfere with non-public parts of the service or of Datax's systems;

  • probe, scan, or test any system or network for security vulnerabilities;

  • break or circumvent any security or authentication measures;

  • access service features through interfaces we have not made publicly available (for example, an API).

If your uploaded content or your use of the service does not comply with applicable law or the Terms of Service, we may remove the non-compliant content, and we may suspend or terminate the processing, display, and distribution of your content for any reason. The details are always governed by the [Terms of Service](https://subanana.com/en/terms).

3. Supported upload methods (for reference)

As long as the rules above are met, you can provide content in the following ways:

  • upload common audio/video files (for example mp4, mov, m4a, mp3, wav);

  • paste a YouTube, Instagram, or Facebook video link;

  • use the app's built-in audio recording or screen recording features.

About file size and processing length:

  • Free plan: up to 30GB and 8 hours per file — the same per-file limits as the paid plans; the file is uploaded in full, but only the first 15 minutes of content are generated (subtitles / transcript / AI meeting summary), and the rest is not processed; up to 3 file uploads per month.

  • Paid plans: up to 30GB per file, and content up to 8 hours long can be processed.

If you are unsure whether a piece of content meets the acceptable-use rules, feel free to contact us at hello@subanana.com or via the in-app live chat. We will reply within 1 business day (Monday to Friday, Hong Kong time).
