How do I view receipts and check my billing? (including unrecognized charges)

Written by Chloe

You can view all your subscription and purchase records and download receipts and invoices right from your account. You can also check whether an unrecognized charge came from Subanana.

1. View subscription records and download receipts

All receipts and invoices can be downloaded from your account. Here's how:

1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the page, then click [Billing].

2. Under "Payment history" you can see every subscription and purchase record (date, plan, amount, status). Click [View receipt] on a record to open and download the corresponding receipt/invoice (PDF).

Receipts are issued per individual payment and can be used for company expense claims. For the standard plans (Lite / Pro / Max), the receipt the system sends after each charge is the official receipt.

In addition, whenever you successfully subscribe or renew, the system automatically sends an email with the receipt attached to the email address registered to your account. If you can't find it in your inbox, try searching for keywords like "Subanana" or "receipt" — you can also download it anytime from "Payment history" using the steps above.

Please note: your account login email cannot be changed in the app. Payment methods, billing name, and address are managed through the Stripe Customer Portal — click [Manage payment methods and details] on the "Billing" page to go there.

2. Check an unrecognized charge

If you see a charge on your credit card or bank statement that you don't recognize and want to confirm whether it came from Subanana, you can check the following:

  • Check the merchant name (merchant descriptor). The merchant name on your statement shows which brand the charge belongs to. Subanana previously operated under the SubtitleWhisper and Subper brands, unified under Subanana from April 2026. A charge from us may therefore appear on your statement as Subanana, SubtitleWhisper, or Subper — if you're a longtime user of those brands, you might not immediately recognize a charge labeled "Subanana".

  • The currency can be HKD or USD. Subanana charges in both Hong Kong dollars (HKD, Hong Kong users) and US dollars (USD, non-Hong Kong / overseas users), and our brands SubtitleWhisper / Subper / Subanana-TW also bill in USD. So a charge shown in USD could still be from us.

  • Confirm which email the charge belongs to. The charge may belong to an account registered under a different email address. Follow the steps in "1. View subscription records" above and sign in to the relevant account to check its subscription and purchase records.

If you can't find a matching charge in your own account's records, please contact us and provide the merchant name, charge amount, currency, and date from your statement (plus a screenshot if convenient), and we'll help you trace where this charge came from.
