Why This Matters
Change orders are a fact of life in contracting. Processing them correctly keeps your projects on budget, your financing in sync, and your customers informed about any scope changes.
What You'll Need
Admin access to SubcontractorHub
A web browser (Chrome or Edge recommended)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1
Scroll down to the financing section of the proposal and select “Unfinalize” on the finance card.
Step 2
The button changes to white, indicating the proposal has been unfinalized and is ready for a system design change order.
Step 3
Scroll back up to make your design updates. You can also change the pricing by adjusting adders.Note:When processing a change order, the system design and adders can be adjusted. However, batteries cannot be added to a change order. Attempting to add batteries to a change order will result in an error message when finalizing a quote.
Step 4
Post the completion of your updates, scroll back down to the financing section of your proposal and click “Finalize” on the finance card. You do not need to qualify the customer again.
Step 5
The finalize button will turn yellow and read “Unfinalize”. You can now send out the new finance docs for your customer to sign digitally, completing the change order process.
Real-World Example
💡 When a customer adds a battery to their solar project mid-install, the project manager creates a change order that automatically updates the financing — keeping everything in sync without manual calculations.
