Why does an error message appear when I cancel a SNCF train ticket on Supertripper?

The platform displays an error message when I cancel an SNCF train ticket.

Updated this week

👉 To limit the risk of fraud, SNCF has implemented a reimbursement delay system for tickets canceled on the day of departure.

🎫 Specifically:

  • When you cancel a train ticket on the day of your travel, the refund request is automatically put on hold

  • A delay (less than 30 minutes according to SNCF) allows them to ensure the ticket hasn't been used before approving the refund

  • Once this verification is complete, the refund will be approved

☝️ As a result, please note that if you cancel a train reservation for the same day on the Supertripper platform, an error message may appear. However, rest assured that your request is being processed and will be handled as soon as the boarding information has been updated in SNCF's central system.

💡 Tip: if possible, plan your cancellations in advance to avoid this waiting period and receive a faster refund.
