With the new case team assignments you will be able to define who is the handling attorney and any supporting staff associated with a case in Supio.
There is no additional setup or settings to take advantage of this feature. We have included an FAQ at the bottom of this document.
Assigning a Team to a New Case
The new case team feature is folded into the case creation process, so you can right away capture who owns the case or is working on it. When creating a new case, you will see a dropdown for Handling Attorney and Supporting Staff at the top of the case creation form.
You can choose from a list of existing members of your Supio organization, and make the assignments. Adding a handling attorney will be required for all new cases moving forward, with option to also add any supporting staff working on the case.
For existing cases which do not have assignments yet, we’ve made it super easy to quickly click through to the assignment page from the case list and from the case overview page. It is not mandatory to make assignments for any old cases, but we strongly recommend users make assignments for those cases which they are actively working.
Viewing Case Team Assignments
Once the case has an assignment, this will be visible on the Overview page of the case. It can be changed at any time by clicking the edit button and making modifications to the assignments directly on the case itself.
In the Case List landing page, the assignments are displayed as their own columns, so that you can easily view who is working on which cases. We’ve included a ‘Show Only My Cases’ filter at the top, so that you can quickly reduce the list down to only those cases that you are working on. This works for both the handling attorney and supporting staff assignments.
FAQ
Q: I am using the Teams feature, how does this feature work with my existing teams?
A: The new Case Teams works seamlessly with the existing teams feature. If you have the feature enabled, then any cases where a user is added as an assignment will also automatically subscribe that user to the case’s notifications.
Q: If I am on a Team subscribed to a case, will I get automatically added as Case Team Assignment?
A: No, there are no automatic assignments occurring upon upgrade, adopting the feature is optional but highly recommended in preparation for later releases.
Q: Can I use this feature to get emails about case updates?
A: Yes, if you also enable the Teams feature. Any user that is added as an assignment to a case will also be subscribed to get notifications about the case.
Q: I want to use this feature, but I have many cases to update, is there a bulk assignment tool?
A: Not at this time, we recommend cases be filled in manually as you work them, or asking each user to assign themselves to the cases that are relevant to them. Moving forward all new cases have the step to assign a team built into the case creation process.
