Case Creation & sync

Any case in SmartAdvocate can be synced to Supio for timeline generation as well as other products like demand letters. To add a case to be synced, simply add a Supio tag to the case. Currently, the Supio integration supports four tags:

  • "supio chronology": Instructs Supio to generate a detailed timeline.

  • "supio liability demand": Instructs Supio to generate a detailed timeline as well as a liability demand letter.

  • "supio uninsured demand": Instructs Supio to generate a detailed timeline as well as an uninsured (UM) demand letter.

  • "supio underinsured demand": Instructs Supio to generate a detailed timeline as well as an underinsured (UIM) demand letter.

Regardless of the tag selected, adding a case to Supio also enables AI assistant support for the case.

💡Note: For backwards compatibility with an earlier version of the integration, the "supio case sync" tag is still supported. Using this tag is equivalent to the "supio chronology" tag.

Cases can also be created directly in Supio that link to your SmartAdvocate case. When creating a new case, select the “SmartAdvocate” data source and enter the case number for the case. Supio will automatically populate basic information for the case.

💡 Note: Cases created in this way do not have automatic file sync supported. If you’d like a case to have file sync, be sure to add a tag to the case in SmartAdvocate.

Automatic File Sync

Once a case is synced via the integration, and automatic file sync is enabled for the case, any new files which are uploaded to Smart Advocate will automatically be added to Supio for processing. These files are treated as an update and will enter the queue for updating chronologies or case economics. File types supported via automatic file sync are PDF, doc, docx, jpeg, jpg, png, and tiff.

Connector Settings for Automatic File Sync

When viewing a case which has automatic file sync enabled, in the File List, there is an additional button for File Sync, which provides a set of controls for the file sync feature. This includes a toggle to turn file sync on or off for the specific case, as well a button to force the sync from Smart Advocate. This can be used if you urgently need to get some files in the system.

Should any files fail to upload, a errors and other messages will display here, which can be used to get to a list of files and their file paths to either retry or to upload manually.
