Managing duplicates

If two or more Linkedin profiles have the same name, their data may clash in the CRM. You may have mismatched data or unnecessary duplicates, but it’s easy to fix.

1. Go to your target profile on LinkedIn.

If a duplicated contact scenario occurs, you will see a ‘view duplicates’ notice next to the contact name in SurfeSync.

2. Click ‘view duplicates’ and a window will appear where potential duplicate contacts are listed. The CRM contact that this profile is linked to will be highlighted.

3. Here you have three options:

a) If the target profile is incorrectly linked to the highlighted CRM contact, select the contact and click ‘Unlink this contact’.

b) If you would like to change the CRM contact that your target profile is connected to, select the CRM contact from the list that you would like to connect the profile to and click ‘Linked contact to this record’.

c) Sometimes, you might just have two CRM contacts who happen to have the same name. To separate these profiles and have them in your CRM as two different contacts, simply click ‘Create new contact’. In the next window, select whether you would like to add the profile to your CRM as a contact, lead, or add to a deal.
