How To Put Your Funnel Into A Website

S
Written by Swift

Introduction

Funnels can also live inside your websites, giving you the ability to run A/B tests and track conversions directly on your homepage or other key pages. This is especially powerful when testing different messaging, layouts, or calls-to-action to see which version converts better.

Creating a Home Funnel

  • Go to your Funnels section in the dashboard.

  • Click Create New Funnel and choose an Empty Funnel template.

  • Name it (e.g., Home Funnel).

  • Open Funnel Settings and set it as your Homepage.

  • This makes the funnel’s first step (usually the landing page) the homepage of your site.

Moving Pages Into Your Funnel

  • From your Pages list, click the three dots next to your homepage.

  • Select Move to a Funnel.

  • Choose the funnel you just created (e.g., Home Funnel).

  • Your homepage is now inside the funnel flow.

  • You can delete any placeholder/blank steps that came with the new funnel.

Running A/B Tests on Your Homepage

  • Inside your funnel, duplicate your homepage step.

  • Edit one version with changes such as:

    • Different images

    • New button colors

    • Alternate headings or messaging

  • The system will show visitors a 50/50 split between version A and version B in real-time.

  • Compare conversion rates to see which page performs better.

Adding Next Steps

  • To measure conversions, you’ll need at least one next step (e.g., a Contact Page, Appointment Page, or Checkout).

  • Add a new step in your funnel (e.g., Book Appointment).

  • Analytics will now show how many users move from the homepage to the next step and the percentage conversion rate.

Selecting a Winner

  • Monitor performance until there’s enough visitor data.

  • You can:

    • Manually select a winner at any time.

    • Or set rules for automatic selection after a certain visitor count.

  • Once a winner is chosen, only the best-performing version will display to visitors.

Best Practices

  • Always test one key variable at a time (e.g., headline, button color, or hero image) for clear results.

  • Set your funnel as homepage only when running a campaign or test then switch back if needed.

  • Track conversions tied to a clear next step (form submission, booking, checkout).

  • Use A/B testing for homepage optimization, but apply funnels for focused campaigns (products, services, lead generation).

  • Remember: funnels work best when distraction-free - keep navigation limited.

Quick Workflow Recap

  • Create an Empty Funnel and set it as homepage

  • Move your existing homepage into the funnel

  • Duplicate the page to create test variations

  • Add a next step (form, contact page, checkout) to measure conversions

  • Run the split test → monitor analytics → select the winner
