This article is for teachers within a school or district TalkingPoints partnership.

Teachers can receive notifications related to messages from families, co-teachers, and school/district administrators. You can control 3 types of notifications: 1) email notifications, 2) push notifications on the mobile app, and 3) badges on the app/web. You can also set office hours to control when you receive message notifications via email and app. Follow these steps to adjust your notification settings!

Web

Step 1: Select your name in the bottom left corner.

Step 2: Select 'Settings' in the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Select 'Notifications' from the Settings menu.

Step 4: Change your notifications settings:

  • Badges to control the appearance of red indicators for unread staff announcements

  • Email for receiving a certain cadence of emails related to new family messages

  • Office hours to control when you get any notifications

Step 5: Scroll down and click 'Save' to confirm your changes.

Badge notifications related to family messages cannot be toggled off.

Mobile App

Step 1: Select the 'Profile' tab at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Click on 'Notifications & auto-reply' under Account settings.

Step 3: Set up your notification settings and tap 'Save' to confirm changes.
