How can I change my notifications settings? (Families)

Enable notifications in the TalkingPoints Families app and use our notification troubleshooting tool.

For TalkingPoints for Families, you will not find notification settings inside the app. Instead, you will need to open up your phone's settings to manage notifications. Here are the steps to access notification settings on both Apple and Android devices.

iOS

Step 1: Under 'Apps,' select the TalkingPoints Families app.

Step 2: Select 'Notifications.'

Step 3: Tap 'Allow Notifications,' Make sure all notification types are enabled too.


Android

Step 1: From phone settings, open your 'Apps' tab.

Step 2: Select 'TalkingPoints.'

Step 3: Tap on 'Notifications.'

Step 4: Tap on 'Allow Notifications.' Make sure all notification types are enabled too.


Notifications Help

Not receiving notifications from your TalkingPoints for Families app? We've created a notifications diagnostic tool in the app to help figure out what the issue is so that you don't miss important messages from teachers.

Step 1: In the TalkingPoints for Families app, select the 'Settings' tab.

Step 2: Scroll down and select 'Notifications help.'

Step 3: The app will automatically run three tests to determine why you're not receiving notifications. If there are any tests marked with red, complete the suggested actions.

Android users, please note you must tap out of the app right before the test notification sends in order to receive it. Android does not support notifications while the app is open. See the images below.
