By default, you are subscribed to all communications sent by your school’s or district’s staff. If you do not want to receive messages from a specific staff member or school thread, you can leave the conversation through the app or SMS text.
You cannot leave a conversation with the district. If you don't want any messages through TalkingPoints, you can opt out.
Family App:
Leave a Conversation
Step 1: From the home page or messages tab, select the message thread you want to leave.
Step 2: Select the teacher or school name at the top of the message thread.
Step 3: Select 'Leave conversation.'
Step 4: Select 'Leave' to confirm that you want to leave that conversation.
This means you can no longer send or receive messages from the staff member or school.
Rejoin a Conversation
Step 1: From the home page or messages tab, select the message thread you want to rejoin.
Step 2: Select 'Rejoin.'
Step 3: Tap 'Rejoin' again to confirm you want to rejoin the conversation with that staff member or school.
SMS Text:
Open the message thread that you would like to stop receiving messages from. Text LEAVE to the message thread.
Text REJOIN in the same thread to start receiving and sending messages again to the school or staff member.
If you no longer have the message thread saved, please contact your teacher or school to get the phone number to text REJOIN to.
