Updated over 3 weeks ago

Families can start conversations with their student's teachers at any time. In message conversations, you can see up to three suggested replies that can be sent as-is or customized. This feature will make it easier to respond to important messages from your child's school quickly. Construct a message using our two-way messaging platform.

Step 1: Tap 'Send A Message.'
Step 2: Select a teacher or staff member.
Step 3: Write a message and use the➕ icon to take a photo, record a video, or attach an image from your library.

Tip: Make sure your notifications are on so you know when you get a reply!

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I share messages with other family members?

The TalkingPoints for Families app offers shared messaging for family members. However, to respect varying family structures, it is not enabled by default. To enable shared messaging in the app, see our guide here.

All family members who want to share messages must turn it on within the app to see each other’s messages.

What if I don’t see a student or staff member?

All information on the app is automatically set up with data provided by your school or district. If any data is missing, please contact the school directly to have them double-check that you are listed under the student profile and that your phone number is still correct.

Tips for communicating with your child's teachers:

  1. Ask questions when you have them. Teachers don't expect you to figure everything out on your own. You are a team, working together to help your child achieve success!

  2. Stay in frequent contact. Let them know you are dedicated to being part of that team.

  3. Make your availability known. Your child's teacher will appreciate knowing the best time to contact you.
