At the start of each new school year, TalkingPoints automatically updates the default message view to focus on the current school year. Messages from previous school years are not deleted—they're simply filtered from the default view to help keep district communication organized.
If you need to review historical communication across your district, you can filter messages by school year or select a custom date range at any time.
✏️ TalkingPoints Districts have their school year date filter automatically set to July 1. Learn more about updating your school year filter date here.
How to View Messages from a Previous School Year 💬
Select Messages.
Open the Time Frame filter.
Select School Year.
Choose the school year you'd like to view.
Your message list will update to display conversations from the selected school year.
View a Custom Date Range 📅
Need to review messages from a specific period instead?
Open the Time Frame filter.
Select Custom.
Choose your Start and End dates.
Apply the filter.
Your message list will update to show conversations from the selected date range.

Previous school year messages remain available—they are filtered, not deleted.
You can filter messages by an entire school year or create a custom date range.
