At the start of each new school year on July 1, TalkingPoints automatically updates your Messages view to show conversations for the new school year. Messages from previous school years are not deleted—they're simply filtered from your default view to help keep your inbox focused on your current students and families.
If you need to reference or reply to an older conversation, you can switch your message filter to a previous school year at any time.
How to View Messages from a Previous School Year (Web) 💬
Select Messages.
Select the ••• (More) menu at the top of the Messages page.
Select Filter messages by date.
Choose the school year you'd like to view (for example, July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026).
Your Messages view will update to display conversations from that school year.
Return to the Current School Year 🔄
When you're finished viewing archived conversations:
Open the ••• (More) menu.
Select Clear (or choose the current school year filter, if available).
Your inbox will return to showing messages from the current school year.
Good to Know 💡
Previous school year messages remain available—they are filtered, not deleted.
You can continue responding to conversations from previous school years at any time.
On July 1 each year, TalkingPoints automatically updates your default message view to the new school year.
