  • ✅ All Quick Kudos messages are tagged as “positive” by default.

  • 🌟 When a Quick Kudos is marked as positive, it will send with confetti and increase your positive message count

  • 🗂 Categories are sorted alphabetically.

  • 📨 Only one saved message per category.

  • 💬 You can edit the message before sending it each time.

What is Quick Kudos?

Quick Kudos makes it easy for teachers to send short, encouraging messages to families in just a few clicks or taps. It’s a fast, fun way to share what’s going well with students.

When you send a Quick Kudos, you'll see a confetti celebration—and so will families using the TalkingPoints app. Your positive message counter will also go up automatically!

Why Use Quick Kudos?

Strong partnerships with families start with regular, positive communication. Research shows the best ratio is 4 positive messages for every 1 corrective message.

Quick Kudos helps teachers:

  • Celebrate student wins quickly

  • Keep a strong balance of positive-to-corrective communication

  • Build trust with families

How to Send a Quick Kudos

On Web

  1. Log in to your TalkingPoints for Teachers web application.

  2. On the right-hand panel, click Quick Kudos.

  3. Choose a category—they’re listed alphabetically.

  4. The message field will auto-fill with your saved message. You can edit it if needed.

  5. Click Send.

✅ Confetti appears on your screen, and on the family’s screen if they use the TalkingPoints app (see version requirements below).

On Mobile

  1. Open the TalkingPoints Teacher app.

  2. Look at the top of the screen, under Send a class announcement and Send a direct message.

  3. Tap Quick Kudos.

  4. Select a category (shown alphabetically).

  5. Edit the message if you like, then tap Send.

Note: SMS-only family users won’t see confetti.

Confetti only shows for app users on the following versions:

  • Teacher app: 8.2423.x or later

  • Family app: 4.2423.x or later

Customizing Your Quick Kudos Categories

You’ll start with 7 pre-made categories. You can edit any of the pre-made Quick Kudos categories by clicking the 3 dots and then selecting "Edit category". Then you can:

  • Rename the category

  • Change the emoji

  • Edit the message

  • Choose whether the message is marked as positive (this is checked by default)

Want to Add More?

  • You can create up to 13 more categories, for a total of 20.

  • Once you reach 20 categories, the Add a new category button will disappear.

  • Each category can only hold one message at a time (no saving multiples per category).
