Post builder

How to use the Post builder to generate high-quality posts from an idea, an article or a YouTube video.

The Post builder helps you create optimized post variations across different styles, formats, tones and angles, directly inside Taplio.

Whether you’re stuck for ideas or want high-quality variations ready to post, the Post builder gives you an easy, guided workflow to produce engaging content in seconds. You can start from an idea or from a URL (an article or a YouTube video).

📌 Where to find the Post builder

  1. Click Write & Schedule in the sidebar.

  2. Select Post builder.

💡 Generate posts from an idea

1️⃣ Enter your post topic

At the top of the page, under “What is your post about?”, type the general idea or topic of your post (e.g., Why consistency matters more than talent).

This is the foundation the AI uses to generate your post variations.

2️⃣ Choose your post types

Under “What kind of variations do you want to generate?”, choose one or more post types:

  • Actionable

  • Storytelling

  • Thought-provoking

  • Promotional

These define the style and intent of the generated content. You’ll get one variation for each type you select.

3️⃣ Select up to 5 tags

Tags give you more control over how your posts are written. There are three categories:

🗂 Format: Listicles, Concise, Long-form, Emoji-free, Numbers, One-liner

🗣 Tone: Assertive, Enthusiastic, Irreverent, Friendly, Humorous, Ironic, Formal, Serious, Humble, Persuasive, Critical, Straightforward, Sarcastic, Optimistic, Pessimistic, Celebratory, Compassionate

🎯 Angle: Contrarian, Inspirational, Story, Life Experience, Easy Steps, Comparison, You’re Doing It Wrong, My Secret, Tactical, I Thought I Knew, Promotional

✔️ Select up to 5 tags in total.

✔️ Optional: tick Save tags for future posts to remember your preferences.

4️⃣ Generate your posts

  1. Click Generate Posts.

  2. Wait a few seconds.

  3. Review your generated post variations.

Each variation reflects a different combination of type, format, tone and angle, so you get multiple unique takes on your idea.

🔗 Generate posts from a URL

Instead of starting from scratch, you can turn existing content into posts. Taplio analyzes the content and turns its key ideas into ready-to-post variations.

At the top of the Post builder, switch from From an idea to From a URL.

📰 From an article

  1. Select Article.

  2. Paste the URL of a blog post or web page.

  3. Click Generate.

Taplio extracts the key ideas and generates post variations based on the article’s content.

▶️ From a YouTube video

  1. Select YouTube Video.

  2. Paste the YouTube video URL.

  3. Click Generate.

Taplio analyzes the video and creates posts inspired by its main points.

✨ After you generate posts

Generated posts behave like any other post in Taplio. You can:

  • Edit the text

  • Save it as a draft

  • Post it immediately

  • Add it to your schedule

  • Copy it to reuse elsewhere

🧠 Tips for best results

  • Be specific in your topic: e.g., LinkedIn engagement techniques for solopreneurs instead of LinkedIn tips.

  • Mix tags across categories: combine a tone, an angle and a format for richer results.

  • Use several post types together: Actionable + Storytelling + Thought-provoking gives you a broader range of styles.

  • Use clear, high-quality sources: well-structured articles and videos produce the best posts. It’s a great way to repurpose your blogs and videos.

  • Review before posting: edit and tweak the generated posts so they sound like you.
