The post-composer is probably the most important feature of Taplio. After all, what good is finding inspiration if you can’t actually publish?
💡 Before you schedule your first post, it’s a good idea to set up your content schedule in Taplio.
Opening the composer
The composer is available from any page in the app. Simply click the “Write a Post” button in the left sidebar, right below “Ask Taplio”.
The composer opens as a window with two sides: the left panel (AI Edit, Drafts, Media and Boosts tabs) and the editor on the right, where you write your post.
Choosing the account
At the top of the editor you’ll see the account you’re posting as. Click your name to switch between your personal profile and any company pages you manage, or use “Search company page” to find another one.
Writing your post
This is where you write your content. It works just like any text box you’ll find on the web, and the counter at the bottom left shows how many of LinkedIn’s 3,000 characters you’ve used. Your work is saved automatically (you’ll see “Post saved” in the bottom right of the editor).
At the bottom of the text box are all the options you can use:
Add poll
Open snippets
Add rich text (font formatting such as bold and italic)
Add media (image, video, or document/PDF)
Add GIF
Add emoji
Previewing your post
Use the Edit / Preview toggle in the top right corner of the composer to see how your post will look on LinkedIn. In Preview, you can switch between desktop and mobile views and check where the “see more” line will cut your post, which can vary between the two.
Need a quick refresher? The icon next to the preview toggles opens Taplio Academy.
The left panel
AI Edit
Improve what you wrote, in your own voice. Use the quick actions “Improve this post”, “Rewrite the hook” or “Fix grammar and spelling”, or type your own instruction in the chat box below. You can reference your post with the [composer content] variable.
Type / (or click Commands) to run a command:
/repurpose – rewrite any post into fresh variations in your voice
/fromlink – draft a LinkedIn post from an article, Notion page, or YouTube link
/postFromIdea – turn an idea into a ready-to-publish post in your voice
/postIdeas – get post ideas based on your profile, recent posts, and inspiration
History shows your previous AI conversations, and Adjust results opens your AI profile setup (About you, Tone of voice, Content pillars and Audience) so everything Taplio generates sounds like you.
Drafts
All your saved drafts in one place. Click the pencil icon on any draft to open it in the editor and keep writing.
Media
Upload images, videos or documents by clicking or dragging and dropping them, or generate an image with AI and pick its style. Files you’ve used before are available under My assets.
Boosts
Settings that apply to this post only: URL preview, Scheduled comment, Auto connect, Auto reply, Auto DM, and Also publish on X. Learn more in Taplio Post Boosts.
Publishing and scheduling
When you’re done writing, you have a few posting and scheduling options available at the bottom of the composer.
[Screenshot: bottom bar with “New draft” and “Schedule Post”]
The most important one is “Schedule Post”, which adds your post to the first available slot in your posting schedule (the date and time are shown right on the button), so you don’t have to worry about picking a time yourself.
If you want it to go out at a specific time, open the dropdown arrow to the right of the “Schedule Post” button:
Post now – publishes your post in less than a minute.
Schedule – lets you choose the date and time manually, without worrying about the time slots in your queue.
Post next – adds your post to the first slot in your queue. If that slot was already taken, the previous post is pushed down and your new post takes its place.
In the same dropdown you can also assign one or more labels to your post (for example Educational, Marketing or Promotional), or create a new label, to keep your content organized.
Saving drafts
Have a few post ideas but not ready to publish? You can:
Write your idea in the composer,
Click the “New draft” button,
Your idea is saved as a draft, and you can revisit it any time from the Drafts tab and continue writing.
