To send emails from your own Gmail or Outlook address in Teach ’n Go, you must configure SMTP settings and generate an app password. This guide walks you through the required settings and step-by-step setup.

How to generate a Gmail app password
Before configuring SMTP, you must create an app password.
Go to your Google Account.
Select Security from the left menu.
Under Signing in to Google, click App passwords.
If you don’t see this option, it may be because:
Two-step verification is not enabled.
Your account is managed by a school or organisation.
Advanced Protection is enabled.
Click Select app and choose the relevant app.
Click Select device and choose your device.
Click Generate.
Copy the 16-character app password shown in the yellow bar.
Click Done.
Use this app password (not your regular Gmail password) in Teach ’n Go.

How to generate an Outlook app password
Log in to your Microsoft account.
Click your profile icon (top right) and select My Microsoft Account.
Go to Security.
Click Advanced security options.
Under Additional security, turn on Two-step verification.
Follow the setup process and click Finish.
A new section called App passwords will appear.
Click Create a new app password.
Copy the generated password and use it in Teach ’n Go instead of your normal password.
Final step in Teach ’n Go
After generating your app password:
Go to My profile in Teach ’n Go.
Scroll to Email settings.
Change Email SMTP to Custom.
Enter the SMTP details listed above.
Use your app password as the SMTP password.
Send a Test mail to confirm everything is working.
Troubleshooting
Authentication failed? Make sure you are using the app password, not your regular email password.
