Teach 'n Go doesn't have an object called a "payment plan", but you can split fees into instalments in several ways. This article covers the three main approaches.
If you don't see the Payments or Settings sections below, ask your admin to check your permissions.
Option 1 — Monthly fee on a class
When setting up or editing a class, go to the Fees step and choose Monthly fee. Set a from-month, to-month, a default monthly price, and an optional discount.
Teach 'n Go generates one fee per month across the date range you set. You can then edit any individual monthly fee or reset it to the default. This is the closest thing to an automatic instalment schedule — the system creates one line per billing period.
Enrolment and unenrolment dates automatically narrow which months are generated per student, so a student who joins mid-term only gets fees from the month they enrolled.
Option 2 — Custom fee schedule
Choose Custom fee when setting up a class or adding a fee directly to a student. This gives you a free-form list where each row has a description, due date, amount and discount. Click Add another payment date to add as many rows as you need.
Custom fees are the right choice when you want a flat termly total split across specific due dates — for example, three equal payments at the start of each term.
Option 3 — Fee templates
If you use the same fee structure across many students, save it as a template at Settings → Payments → Fee templates. Templates store a title, description, fee type (one-off, monthly or custom), amount, dates, and the full instalment schedule.
Templates appear in the Select template dropdown at the top of the Add fee modal. You can also create a template on the fly by ticking Save this fee as a template when adding a fee to a student.
Partial payments
If a student pays less than the full amount due, a confirmation modal explains which fees will be partially paid or removed from the receipt, and asks you to choose per item before accepting. Partial payments must be enabled in your school settings before students can pay a partial amount from the portal.
Stripe recurring subscriptions
The Add fee modal also offers a Stripe recurring subscription option, but there are important things to know before using it:
This option only appears if Stripe keys are saved in your settings and subscriptions are enabled.
You must create the product in Stripe manually and paste a price ID and subscription ID into Teach 'n Go. Teach 'n Go does not create the Stripe product for you.
Stripe recurring subscriptions are not available for bi-weekly classes — use a custom fee schedule or one-off payments instead.
