Editing a teacher profile

What you can change on a teacher's profile, where to find each setting, and what teachers can edit themselves.

Written by Abdullah Al-Hussein

To edit a teacher's profile, open the teacher's record and click More ▾ → Edit. The edit form is divided into several sections.

If you don't see the More menu or Edit option, ask your admin to check your permissions. The labels "teachers" may be renamed in your school — check the sidebar for your school's terminology.

Personal details

Here you can update the teacher's display colour (used in the timetable), name, gender, date of birth, ID number, profile photo, and a short bio shown in the booking page. You can also add or remove labels to help filter and group teachers.

Contact details

Add or edit email addresses, phone numbers, and address. The primary email is used for portal login and all system notifications.

Payment details

Set a default hourly rate for the teacher. This rate is used as a starting point when generating teacher pay reports. Per-class rates are managed separately from the class's Fees tab, not here.

There is no subjects field on the teacher profile edit form. Subject associations are managed at the class level.

Custom fields

If your school has set up custom fields for teachers (at Settings → Custom fields), they appear here. Fill them in as needed.

Notes

Internal notes visible only to staff with the right permissions. Notes are not shown to the teacher via their portal.

Portal access

Toggle whether the teacher can log in to the teacher portal, and resend their portal invitation email from here.

Can teachers edit their own profile?

By default, teachers cannot edit their own profile details. If you'd like to allow this, contact support — self-editing is not currently a permission you can toggle in the admin panel yourself.
