The Teacher pay tab shows what you owe each teacher for a chosen period, in one table. It lives on the Payments page, as the last tab after Refunds, and is visible to admins only.
Your school may use different names for students, teachers and classes. If you don't see the menu items below, ask your admin to check your permissions.
Reading the pay run
Pick a period at the top — it defaults to last calendar month — and a status filter (unpaid, paid or all). Only lessons inside the period count, so sessions scheduled after it never affect the totals.
Each teacher gets one row: hours taught, amount owed, already paid, balance and a status chip. A totals row sums the table, and Export CSV downloads it with the current filters applied.
Click a row to expand it. The breakdown lists every lesson with its date, class, duration, rate and amount, plus any monthly or custom fees and adjustments. The figures come from the same pay records as payslips, so the two always agree.
Teachers only appear when they have lessons, fees or adjustments in the period. Archived teachers are not shown, even if they are still owed money — unarchive them to settle up.
Adding an adjustment
Adjustments are one-off amounts outside the lesson maths — prep time, a bonus, travel costs, or a deduction as a negative amount.
Click Add adjustment on the teacher's row.
Enter a label, the amount (use a minus sign for a deduction), and a date inside the selected period.
Save. The adjustment appears in the breakdown and moves the balance immediately.
An adjustment can be deleted from the breakdown at any time, as long as it hasn't been paid on a payslip.
Creating a payslip
Click Create payslip on a row. The payslip page opens with the teacher and the period already selected: every unpaid lesson and fee for the period is listed, and each unpaid adjustment is added as its own line, so the payslip total matches the "on the next payslip" figure in the breakdown.
Saving the payslip links the adjustments to it, so they show as paid back on the Teacher pay tab.
Lessons flagged with a warning
A lesson shown with a warning icon has a teacher rate but no pay record, so neither this page nor a payslip will pay it. These lessons are listed in the breakdown but kept out of the totals. Check the class's teacher pay settings and the lesson itself if you expected it to be payable.
For recording the payment itself, see Paying teachers and creating payslips.
