Teach ’n Go allows you to control who can see the attachments and notes you add to student profiles, classes, and lessons. This guide explains the three privacy levels and how they affect visibility for admins, teachers, staff, students, and related contacts.

Privacy settings for attachments and notes

When adding a note or uploading an attachment, you’ll choose from three privacy options.

1. Admin

Only the school admin(s) can view the note or attachment.

  • This setting can only be selected by an admin.

  • Ideal for sensitive internal information.

2. Private

Visible to:

  • Admin

  • Relevant teachers

  • Relevant staff

This option is useful for information that should stay within the teaching team but doesn’t need to be shared with students or related contacts.

3. Shared

Visible to:

  • Students

  • Related contacts (parents, guardians, employers, etc.)

  • Admin

  • Relevant teachers

  • Relevant staff

Use this setting for materials or notes that students or guardians need to access through the Student/Parent Portal.

Who counts as “relevant teachers and staff”?

Relevant teachers and staff are school members who:

  • Have permission to view students, classes, or lessons

  • Are directly linked to the specific student, class, or lesson where the note or attachment is added

This ensures that only the right people see the right information.

Summary / next steps

Teach ’n Go offers flexible privacy settings so you can control who sees your notes and attachments. Choose the visibility level that best fits the purpose of each document or message.
