Messaging (CHAT) Options on the App

What are the chat options on the TeachKloud app's and how can I enable or disable them?

TeachKloud’s Flexible Messaging Options

TeachKloud offers three flexible messaging (chat) features through the TeachKloud: Childcare App and the TeachKloud for Parents App, allowing administrators to tailor communication settings to their needs. You can enable or disable a combination of the options below:

Option 1: Parent & Educators Chat

This feature enables a specific parent to message all educators in their child's room, creating a dedicated group chat between that parent and the relevant educators.

  • How it works:

    • Parents can initiate the group chat.

    • Once started, both parents and educators can continue the conversation at any time.

    • We recommend using this option to ensure messages are never missed.

  • Status Indicators for Admin (enable or disable here):

    • Grey button: Enabled

    • Green button: Disabled

Option 2: Individual Chat (One-on-One)

This feature allows:
Educators to send direct messages to other educators on a 1:1 basis.
Educators to message parents individually.

  • Status Indicators for Admin (enable or disable here):

    • Grey button: Enabled

    • Green button: Disabled

Option 3: Group Chat (Room-Wide Messaging)

This feature creates a group chat that includes all parents and educators in a specific room, allowing everyone in that room to send and view messages.

  • Important Notes:

    • Group chat is automatically disabled by default and must be enabled by an admin (manage group chat here).

    • Status Indicators:

      • Grey button: Enabled

      • Green button: Disabled

Managing Chat Enabling or Disabling:

  1. Click here to enable or disable chat features for Educators and Parents using the app.

  2. Even if all chat options are disabled, admins can still send site-wide messages to parents and educators via the interface.

Note: Chat messages cannot be deleted, so please review messages carefully before sending.
