WHAT IS A CHAIN?

A chain is a joined up list of organisations that shows the route of a product to market. Within Telus Supply Chain, a chain is the way your supply chain is recorded, and is the method of demonstrating the products, which are supplied to/by you. Each chain can be approved and an expiry date set for the approval.

Chains are the integral structure of the system. In order to demonstrate an organisation is your supplier or customer, it is necessary to have a chain set up demonstrating your organisation’s relationship with the other organisations in question. In order to demonstrate a certain organisation supplies you with a certain product, you need to create a chain with that product travelling from your supplier to your organisation.

The chains you create also determine who you can send tasks to, who can share a file with you and who you can share files with.

CREATE A CHAIN

  1. To create a new supply chain, click on Chains in the menu and then click Add a new chain:

  1. The following chain creation page will appear:

Your organisation will automatically be present in the middle of the chain.

  1. Firstly, add the product(s) that you need to create chain(s) for. If you are a Premium user, you will have access to your own Product list. Otherwise, you will have access to the Products of your customers.
