I did not show up for my shift. What should I do?

Contact the hiring company as soon as possible

Written by Temper | Work to Live

Life happens, and sometimes things don’t go as planned. If you didn’t show up for your Temper Staff shift, don’t panic. Here’s what you should do:

Contact the hiring company

Things can happen that are out of your control. The most important step is to contact the hiring company as soon as possible to explain your situation. It’s always best to do this before the shift starts if you can. Companies might show understanding but have the right to mark you as a no-show.

No-show

Companies can mark you as a no-show. This can have a few consequences:

  • Less attractive account: Being marked as a no-show makes your profile less appealing for future opportunities since this affects your show-up percentage.

  • Strikes: A no-show will likely result in two strikes on your account. Accumulating 3 strikes could lead to a ban from the platform. Learn more about the strike system here.

Disagree with the no-show?

If you feel you were unfairly marked as a no-show, reach out to the company to resolve the issue together. If you’ve tried and still feel the decision was unjust, don’t hesitate to contact Support for further assistance.

If your no-show or cancellation was because you were sick, there’s additional information that might be relevant to your situation. Check out this article for more details.

Remember, communication is key. Addressing the issue quickly and honestly can often lead to a positive resolution.
