Hiring companies have until the shift begins to accept your application. If you’re selected close to the start time, make sure to reach out to the company as soon as possible to confirm if arriving late is acceptable.
If you change your mind about the shift, remember to withdraw your application in advance to avoid being marked as a no-show and getting a strike.
Up to the hiring company
There may be multiple applicants for the same shift, and companies will choose based on experience and skills. While we encourage them to select someone at least 24 hours in advance, your application can still be accepted right before the shift starts. If it’s less than a day until the shift and your application is pending, consider calling the company for an update. Also keep in mind that a company may decide to not fill the job after all.
Keep a close eye on your open applications
For Temper Staff it’s particularly important to stay on top of your shifts and applications.
You might also be chosen at last minute. As long as your application is pending, you're considered available. If you're no longer available or don't want to be selected last-minute, withdraw your application.
Pro tip! When applying for a shift, you can choose to have your application automatically withdrawn if you haven’t been selected by a preferred time. You decide how far in advance this cutoff should be: 3, 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours before the shift starts. This way you can prevent being accepted last-minute.
Also keep a close eye on the applications and shifts on the freelance platform. The two platforms are not linked, so shifts might overlap, which could lead to unnecessary no-shows.
