Before we begin, do you know how Templi works? This basic guide will give you all the context you need!
Prompts and Rules are the basic AI tools in Templi, but AI Tables might be a little bit more trickier. In this guide you will be able to understand how to use them and how to set them up in the most useful way for your Templates.
Let's dive in!
What is an AI Table in Templi?
AI Tables are one of Templi’s most powerful features. Basically an AI Table is a way to indicate Templi to fill a Table for you.
Whether you’re calculating charges, valuing assets, or presenting projections, AI Tables streamline the process.
How to Identify AI Tables
AI Tables are marked with the "AI Table" label at the top-left corner, making them easy to spot.
You can recognise them by looking on the top-left on any table, you should be able to see the AI Table label, like this:
Now, let's talk about how to create one..
How to create an AI Table?
Here’s how to set one up:
Insert a table into your template and design it (For example: You can add the column titles)
Click the first box in the table, labeled “Convert to AI Table.”
In the AI Table Panel, input a description: Explain the purpose of the table and what it should do.
Save your AI Table.

Best Practices for AI Tables
Just like rules, clear instructions are essential. Use the instruction field to:
Explain the table’s purpose.
Specify any calculations Templi needs to perform.
Provide examples of the desired format or output.
For instance:
Example Instruction: “Summarise all wrappers and valuations. Add a column for fees and calculate the total.”
With Calculations: “For each row, calculate the total by multiplying the ‘Units Held’ by the ‘Price per Unit.’ Provide a summary total at the bottom.”
The more context you include, the more precise and accurate your AI Table will be.
