In this article, find out how to make sure that our Tended devices are operating on the most up-to-date firmware version. This is super important to ensure your devices are performing as expected, in line with any updates and improvements.
How do I check which firmware version a device is on?
You can quickly and easily check the firmware version of your Tended devices from within the Dashboard. Here's how π
Log in to the Tended Dashboard
Find the project your device(s) is assigned, click "View project"
Click the "Devices" tab at the top of the page
You'll then see the devices table, use the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom to scroll to the right of the table
Find the "Firmware version" column, and here is where you can check which version your device(s) is on
If the version number is RED, or states "N/A", the device is operating on an old firmware version. The device needs to be put on charge to download the most up-to-date version
How do I download a new update?
Updates should download automatically when a device is placed on charge.
Place your device on charge as normal. If an update is available the connectivity LED will fade in and out yellow.
Leave it on charge until the LED is solid yellow.
The update will finish installing when you next turn it on. It may take around 30 seconds to switch on afterwards.
